About Us
Chilli Coffee Australia is an award-winning brand founded in 2020 by James Sullivan (often called “Jimmy”) in Moreton Bay, Queensland. The company is known for creating the world’s first range of coffee infused with various intensities of chilli spice, designed to offer a “brew-with-a-bite”.
Product Range & Spice Levels
The brand categorises its coffee blends by heat, ranging from level 1 to 5:
D’Lish (Level 1): Super mild with a subtle hint of spice.
D’Vine (Level 2): A mild blend focused on flavour.
D’Midl (Level 3): A balanced medium heat.
D’Sting (Level 4): A full-flavoured blend with a pronounced spicy kick.
D’Grim (Level 5): Their hottest standard blend, recommended for experienced chilli lovers.
Special Editions: They also produce high-heat items like the Bloody Hot Salted Caramel syrup, which is rated a “10” on their scale.

Company History & Operations
Origin: The idea began when a customer at James’s coffee truck suggested the combination.
Awards: The brand won first place in the Mr Chilli Beverage Awards shortly after launching in 2020.
Parent Brand: The company operates under the parent name Barrarister Coffee, a name that combines Sullivan’s love for barramundi fishing and being a barista.
Location: Their physical presence includes a coffee truck (https://chillicoffee.com.au/contact-chilli-coffee/) often found at festivals and a base in Burpengary, QLD.
Beyond coffee beans and grounds, they also sell chilli coffee syrups, chilli hot chocolate powder (D’Choc), and even promote recipes for using chilli coffee in savoury cooking.
We love to collaborate with local businesses and have achieved this with bars, breweries and bakeries.
