About Us
“Loop Growers is a Moreton Bay market garden in Jinibara/Turrbal Country / Samford Valley.
They grow food, the real stuff – straight from the soil and chockers full of nutrients. There’s nothing artificial included because their produce is grown the old-fashioned way – raised on blood, sweat and a whole lotta compost.
Loop Growers’ little bio-intensive market garden, just 30km north-west of Brisbane, pumps out a wide range of chemical-free, closed-loop fruit and veg that feed a growing community of households and local businesses.
Background
Meet Alice and Phil – they met during their mid-20’s in Brisbane. Bonding over the necessity for food waste reduction and access to local food, they decided to use their connections with local cafes to create a composting system utilising local backyards as processing sites.
They then upgraded to Alice’s dads farm in the Samford Valley, where Loop Growers was born.
What customers say
Loop Growers’ customers are cafés, bars and restaurants all around Brisbane. They love that Alice and Phil take their organic materials (called ‘yields’, not waste) and they do their part by separating different yields into colour-coded buckets. These yields are the fuel that keeps Loop Growers’ soil biology happy and healthy, so they cherish every last eggshell, each kale stalk and all of the coffee grounds that comes their way.
‘True ethics and awesome produce, super fresh, great folks, too.’
Did you know?
Loop Growers collect more than 2000 eggshells every week.
They have about 15 people for lunch every Wednesday.
They only ever grow rainbow carrots.”
